Our Camps run over a one to two week period (6 nights/7days to 11 nights/12 days) in most school holidays and cover different regions of Australia, as well as some of our best private schools and Universities.

The camp itself will be a wonderful starting point for discussion during these possible interviews and could make a great first impression!     Stephen Toms - HR Director and Camp Coordinator

    Lifelong Educator

    Stephen hails from a long line of lifelong educators. He has been in education for almost 20 years himself and has spent his career across the UK, Europe and Australia. He has travelled to more countries and places then people have had hot dinners and he certainly has story for any occasion! Stephen loves digital innovation in education and has an innate ability to make all around him feel warm and welcome.

    Erin Lu - Camp Bilingual Supervisor

    Teacher - Shanghai Community International School

    Erin has 5 years of teaching experience at international schools in Shanghai. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and Masters Degree of Teaching Chinese to Other Language Speakers. Her desire as an educator is to help students to grow up into sharing, caring and risk-taking individuals. She likes travelling, reading and writing and comes with much travel experience: taking teenage students across China and discovering it through community service to cultural expedition and adventure learning. She knows our students will love and enjoy the outdoor and cultural education experience with Ao’Wei Education - Prestige Camps Australia.

    Zoe Yueng - Bilingual Supervisor

    Camp Leader

    Zoe is a quad lingual Hong Kong citizen who completed her higher education in the US and has been working in different countries since 2009. She completed her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education while working as a full time ECC and after school teacher in New York City, and at a boarding school in Jeju, South Korea. Zoe believes that by providing authentic learning opportunities for students, it brings meaning to their learning and makes education practical. She believes that the Ao’Wei Education experience will help students build a solid foundation of knowledge because learning through vivid experience is always the most memorable.

    Christian Carnovale - Camp Leader and Supervisor

    Sports Expert

    Christian is currently studying at RMIT doing Digital Media, works as a coach and umpire at Brighton Grammar School and casually works at his family business 'The Paris Cat', which is one of Melbourne's top Jazz Bars. Fun fact: his uncle is a Melbourne Tour guide: in short, hosting, entertaining, educating and working with people is in his blood. Christian also loves the outdoors, camping, getting out in nature and thrives on meeting new people and making memories to last a life time. This will definitely be at the forefront of Christian’s brilliant mind when he is with his students on camp!

    Zach Donald - Camp Leader and Supervisor

    Sports Expert

    Zach is an avid sportsmen and a highly accomplished student who graduated from Brighton Grammar School in 2015. Zach’s sporting career has been through a wide range of sports such as, Athletics, Swimming, Soccer, but mostly Football (Australian Rules Football). Zach garnished a passion for Design in his final year of BGS creating a portfolio and two design pieces worthy of high praise, this has led to Zach’s decision to study Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Design at Monash University. Brighton Grammar also allowed Zach to enjoy leadership roles throughout his schooling including, Captain of House (Hancock), Prefect of the school, Vice-Captain of Athletics and more. Zach cannot wait to explore what the future holds for him, especially in education.

    Harrison McIntyre - Camp Leader and Supervisor

    Sports Expert

    Harrison McIntyre has a great repertoire of sporting experience and having played over 10 years of Australian Rules football before changing sports and picking up Grid iron and as a result earning a scholarship to a US college in Iowa Wesleyan University. Harrison has also enjoyed successful career in coaching and working with adolescence coaching 15 and 16 year olds in both Rowing and AFL. Harrison has also travelled to Ecuador in 2014, completing a trekking tour for 4 weeks including hiking to Mt. Cotopaxi, the world’s largest active volcano. Whilst In
    Ecuador Harrison also had the opportunity to work extensively with an under privileged community Harrison loves working with children especially teens as he enjoys the opportunity to not only coach but to support, mentor and be a great role model.

    Daniel Waters - Camp Leader and Supervisor

    Sports Expert

    Soon to graduate from The University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) and Diploma in Languages (Chinese), Daniel Waters has a passion for China, teaching, and learning. He has spent almost two years living in China, working as a teacher in the areas of Chinese Language, History, and Culture at Caulfield Grammar School’s Nanjing Campus, as well as studying at Fudan University, Shanghai, and traveling extensively. Daniel's travel is not restricted to China, visiting countries around the world, including working as a ski instructor in Japan, studying Spanish in Mexico City, and competing scientific research in Heidelberg, Germany. Daniel is a keen sportsman, focusing on triathlons (swim/ride/run) and Australian rules football.

    Tim Smith - Camp Leader and Supervisor

    Sports Expert

    In 2015 Tim graduated from the University of Melbourne (Australia) with a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communications, Asian Studies and Diploma of Language (Chinese Mandarin). Since the completion of his higher education Tim has prided himself on maintaining a hard work ethic and willingness to learn and grow as a young professional, subsequently leading him to land various work opportunities between Australia and China. Tim has always pursued to incorporate his life-long passion for China into his professional life through the management of programs and facilitation of partnerships in various business, sporting, government and education industries. With a strong appreciation for intercultural connectedness, Tim has recently found a passion within the international education forum, focusing particularly between Australia and China, and how this can contribute significantly towards developing a stronger bilateral relationship

    Eli Twigg - Camp Leader and Supervisor

    Sports Expert

    Eli is a Masters student at the University of Melbourne studying International Relations and Chinese language. After excelling during the first year of his Master’s program he was one of a handful of students selected to write a thesis which he is now busy working on. Eli is a fun loving person who enjoys playing all kinds of sports, travelling and socialising. After studying in Shanghai for a year and a half Eli is fluent in Chinese and thoroughly enjoys building bridges of all kinds between Australia and China. Eli can’t wait to show students the many things that Australia has to offer as well as participating in all the activities that Ao’Wei Education has planned.

    What is the daily schedule for my child?

    Of course! Click on the link or picture opposite to see an example of the daily schedule your child might have. Please note that these will be tailored for each new camp that we have.

    Should I be worried about supervision and safety?

    Absolutely not! Your child will be accompanied by a bilingual teacher at all times in addition to the outdoor and sports staff. ALL staff are trained in First Aid and are qualified to work with children.

    What about dietary requirements, clothing and bedding?

    We provide all clean bedding for your child and will give you a suggested list of clothes to pack in preparation for all the weather conditions your child might face. We also provide a wide variety of meals and snacks and can cater these to your child's specific requirements.

    Can I accompany my child?

    Of course! We are more than happy for parents to accompany their child for the journey to the camp and can arrange for discounted accommodation in the beautiful nearby surrounding areas of the Southern Highlands. It is famous for it's vineyards and wineries and is only a 1 hour drive from the Sydney CBD, with even more amazing shopping opportunities to be found.

    How do I arrange a Visa, FLIGHTS, INSURANCE?

    We will take care of all issues pertaining to your child's flight, visa and insurance (optional). All we need from you is a copy of their passport and copies of a few other documents for their Australian visa. WE do all the running around and processing: it's that simple!

    Will I be able to communicate with my child during the camp? 

     

    The camp is 3G/4G enabled. There will be set times on specific days that your child may use their mobile device to contact you and we can use our own discretion for them to contact you with ours. They'll probably be having too much fun to think about it! ; )

    How much does this cost?

    Our prices are unique for each and every camp but range from 30,000 - 40,000 RMB. Keep an eye out for our early bird specials!
